Today as the first round of the DLE draft is closing up, Robbert Graaf(RG) from Rotenbach Gazette have visited Los Cabos Marauders coach Chimp2010.

DLE is an all human league with 32 humanteams playing it out NFL style.

RG: So Chimp. Here we are, the draft has gone at an amazing speed, seing the first round of 32 picks get done in about 3 days. You picked at no 10. Are you happy with your first round pick at no 10? Or did you expect to draft someone who went earlier?

Chimp: Joe(+ST lineman) was in our top 10 targets to draft with our early pick and when it came to the pick it fell to either Joe or Johnny Ochoa(Ag5, dodge, Strom Arm). We decided to go with Joe as he is closer to getting block and he could be a great player for us depending on what skill path he takes.

RG: What role do you have in mind for your new +ST lino?

Chimp: Joe will see as much time on the pitch as we can get him early in the season. The more he accomplishes i these early matches the quicker he can learn to block, and then he's on the path to becoming a star! I Expect Joe 'Freddie' Kruger to be a household name in the DLE after a season or two.

RG: What is your expectation to your team performance in the coming season after this draft?

Chimp: Well, our division is an odd one, on the one hand we have to play the White Wolves and the Knights twice, but on the other we all get to play the Sharks and they haven't caused any problem since I came to Los Cabos one and a half seasons ago.
In the first half of the season we're going up against the SHC North. I am only really worried about the Wolfskins from that division, I'm confident we can handle the rest if I can keep the roster healthy.
For the second half we go up against your beloved Razorbacks and their pals in the KFC South. The 49ers are a team full of freaks, we'll be doing our best to try and get rid of a few of those. The Scimitars made playoffs last season so they aren't going to be pushovers. I really don't know what to think about the Razorbacks, their season will depend heavily on how well they draft. Then we come to the Eagles, that's a game we will be lucky to finish with a healthy roster.
Overall I think we have a decent chance at making a wildcard spot this season, and if we don't make it we'll be just out of it. I predict an overall finish of 12th for my lads.

RG: So Chimp will be in the hunt for the wildcards this season. It will be exiting to see how he will fare in season 5. Some would say Ochoa was the better pick, others will agree that a +ST lino with only 16 SPP to the next skill was the better choice. This is why the draft is so funny to be part of. We see very different needs from the teams. However. With only 44 linemen in this draft there has allready been a crazy run of linemen who were drafted much later last draft. Next draft will have 61 linemen, and is widely considered a much better draft.
