NFL: 2007 all over again?
Well the NFL postseason looks to have vintage 2007 all over again.
You have the Giants get hot the last weeks of the season and blow in rolling. Denver seems to have the same feel to them.
2007 what a crazy postseason.
Giants roll the Buccnaeers in the wild card round. No problem, so what if a wildcard team takes down a weak division winner.
Go to Dallas and play the 13-3 Cowboys. Get 3 phantom calls that open the door and win that match.
No way they can win again!
Go to Green Bay and take on the 13-3 Pakcers. Holy Hand Genade of Favre misfires in the closing minute and turn defeat into victory.
Bah! all luck.
Head to the Super Bowl against the undefeated Patriots. Oh this is going to be a blow out. Lay a mortgage payment down on the Patriots and get set for a Feb. vacation with the wife.
Nope. Manning stole the plans for the Holy Hand Grenade of Favre and improved on its design. The Manning Hand Greande works and history!!!!!
It is all setting up the same way this season. PLUS we have the bonus of all a sudden Denver looks to have some mojo going. So we have two teams that on paper look like burnt toast. No way man, NFL history is not going to repeat. What you smoking? Giants taking on GB and NO, you watch the games this season? Denver taking on NE and then Balt, oh my.
The greatness of the NFL. That is why we watch the games. Even though we could give a "flip" on who actually wins.

Tebow doesn't have to beat Brady, the Denver D just has to. NE's defense is so bad Denver will be able to score 30+

Personally of all the underdog match-ups I think Houston has the best shot of taking down Baltimore.

30 isn't going to beat the Pats, Denver is going to need 40+ to hang in there. Pittsburgh was massively banged up both sides of the ball (mostly QB and DLine). Pats rested up and are getting a bunch of guys back healthy. Pats are also hosting.
I'd be quite pleased with a 2007 SB rematch: NYG vs. NE

NE is pretty good offensively, but I think you're selling the Broncos' D short.. No way Brady puts up 40 on that D.

Pats beat em 41-23 in Denver. This one should be similar. As for the Giants, when your front four can generate pressure, you always have a chance.

Yeah, hard to argue NE can't score 40+ vs. Denver when they already did it on the road.
Pats are one of 3 teams (the others being GB and NO) who can score on any defense. It's nothing really against DEN, more of an indictment of the current offense-only rules in the NFL.
Pats defense is bad (really bad), but makes occasional stops or forces a field goal here and there. The offense just has to get stopped less for them to win. If Brady or the O-line have an off day (Brady had 1, O-line had 2 this year, by my count), they lose.

the giants averaged 45 yards rushing more per game in '07 and their defense was a lot more consistent. its not quite 'all over again'
