Stalling is an art form in and of itself. Anyone can score in two turns with Pro Elves... who can win 2-1 on a consistent basis with them? Only those that have mastered the art of the stall.

Anyone who gets mad at stalling is either bad at scoring, bad at stalling, or both.

Scoring is an art form also. Anybody can perform a 8 turn stall with bashers.

But who can consistantly win 3-1 by scoring early and really putting pressure on their opponeet? Only those who have mastered the art of scoring.

Anyone who gets mad at scoring is either bad at stopping it, bad at scoring themsleves or just have a issue with Elf Balling pansies who refuese to stall and grind it out in a scrumm. Usually with a little Blodge hate thrown on top.

You mean: defense. It's not the art of scoring you are talking about, tis the art of turning the opponent over.

I sometimes think of stalling threads/blogs like claim chowder...you watch the newbie saying how stalling sucks, and know than in 2 years, they'll be the one on the other side of the table wondering how they were ever that naive.

I can't comment for others, but I already know I should and could stall plenty of times. I just choose not to. I don't think that's naivety. It's just because stalling is lame. You could say cowardly, even, although that's probably a little strong. Mostly, I just don't enjoy it, from either side, and I don't hold victory as more important than enjoyment...

Ah, I read too many blogs.

Claim Chowder is slang used by a few bloggers ( I think John Gruber started it) when they take a newspaper report about the demise of a popular technology and quote it back some years later to say how stupid it sounds. The classic example is Steve Ballmer (microsoft CEO) in 2007, saying in a conference "There's no chance that the iPhone is going to get any significant market share. No chance".

It honestly depends on how you play noel. I don't find playing against people who score fast fun. I'll win, shut down the game, and move onto the next one. The fun part of the game to me is stalling and stall-breaking. Unless bad luck intervenes, there's a lot more skill in it than rolling dice for a score and hoping it works.
