An interesting thought
"Ranked is a joke outside of tournaments": A blanket, thought provoking comment made by ThePeoplesChamp.
Ok lets take this at face value. The main point of the statement is that Cherry Picking means normal matches on the Game Finder are a joke. Littered with cherry picking and unfair match ups.
So
Does that mean that: Box is a joke outside the scheduler?
The main point being that Box is driven by the scheduler and once teams that always compete in the scheduler play outside the scheduler it messes with the dynamic's of the Box.

Any game outside tournaments in perpetual leagues, R and B, is a joke. Bloodbowl was never designed for that, but why would we care? Play how you want, enjoy what you do.

'we care' because the number of games is dwindling, and the dirty little secret that no one wants to talk about is the main reason we bad mouth each other's division of choice is because we think it will influence others to play the division we like. i.e. we're competing for the limited number of games.

We could say;
B is for team that like to bash
R is for Picker
L is for coaches that avoid the competitive divisions.
However, the truth would be closer to;
B is for coaches that like to get quick games and enjoy random matchups
R is for coaches that enjoy avoiding games they would not enjoy, and perhaps playing different styles on different days
L is for coaches that Enjoy playing Blood Bowl as it was really designed to be played.
The truth is, we are lucky enough to have several divisions, so we can play the style that suits us, while allowing other coaches to find the place and style that suits them.
Win / Win.

Allow me to explain what I mean-
R outside of tournaments is a joke. What I mean is I just want to play. I don't care what I play against. Cpomb, full blodge, anything, I just wanted to play this last week to try and skill some bobs, I got 2 games out of 700 requests. I wasn't picking. I avoided this at times by ticking every single matchup and watching, waiting. Sigh. I was avoided by 2350 cpomb, 2100 delves (guess who) 2000 CDs, 1900 dorfs 2200 orcs, my team itself is a mash of poorly chosen skills and stat boosts, by no means scary but only 2 games. It was tiring. If I could have played in a smack or two, I could have avoided this, what I think is the worst experience I've had on the site.
Now I used to be a big fan of ranked when I started, I was god awful and found box very hard, mostly cos my builds were terrible and so was I. Now though I have the same teams and pickings even worse. I never used to have that kind of trouble getting a game.
I could go on all day and I'm digressing.
But yeah, joke.

None of the one off games in R or B mean anything, unless you are fixated on your Coach Rating. In the end, whatever anybody does to build their teams, they still have to play them well enough in a tournament to be able to put them in a position to win it. THIS, is where it starts to matter and the issue of any games leading up to it being a joke or a cherry picking fall to the side.
As far as leagues and Stunty...truthfully, why would we rob ourselves of different varieties of fun. We should all try to participate in at least one league. Stunty...I will be trying that out very soon.

ThePeoplesChamp; no the problem is not your opponents, or anyone not playing you just before a major (and yes that happens to everybody high).
You cant skill up the Black Orc Blockers to, their first skill (block) in two games, period. You have in all the previous games decided to do the blocks with blitzers or skilled up players no doubt, hence the 8 & 13(!) games without reaching first skill.
If you did not risk turnover blocks outside of tournaments to gain that first skill, you wont risk it now, so just hope on the MVP. Orcs is overpowered anyway, so you will do fine until you draw a claw oppo.
